Competition area is flat with big forest on southern side and safe fields central and northern parts of contest area. Usually in this region thermals starts earliest and finishes latest with strongest conditions compared to other Lithuanian regions. In case of very good meteorological conditions possible to fly in Poland as well.
Currently Airspace is limited above airfield up to 1700ft MSL (~350m AGL). In 3km SW limits goes up to FL65 and 30km SW up to FL95. Gliding sector is more than 30km wide going SW, limited by Belarus border to the S and Vilnius CTR and TMA’s to E and N.
We can promise the best conditions in all Lithuania will be in our flying area.
Airfield located 35km from Vilnius, Capital of Lithuania (lot of activities, malls, and sightseeing).
Paluknys town (nearest one) is 2km away with few small stores and nice restaurant.
Trakai is 32km away as a beautiful sightseeing place.
Nearest big supermarket 20km (15min driving) away.
Nearest cafes:
Pits Café located in airfield.
Green Street Café located 2km away.
There is main building with available rooms (1-2 beds per room) for the competitors. Shared kitchen, showers, and toilets. (Prices variable upon request)
Small houses are available for the competitors in the forest or camp if required. (Prices variable upon request)
Tents or trailers are allowed in camping area for competitors free of charge, booking required.
